The Golden Year!

Tati turned 3 recently (ok, truthfully this has been sitting in my "drafts" folder since January). She is so cute and fun and crazy and full of attitude and independence. We love her so much. She wanted to have a "party" so I, of course, couldn't resist. She invited two friends over and told me exactly what she wanted to do:

• Paint nails. This girl loves nail polish. It is pretty amazing to believe how still she can sit when she really never is still in the rest of her life.
• Dance. Put on some music and if you really want to up the ante, you can turn the "Visualizer" on for itunes.
• Eat.
• Play.

Sounds like a perfect birthday party recipe, doesn't it? So that is exactly what we did. So what if one friend only wanted one foot painted and no hands. So what if only Tati wanted to wear a dress up dress while dancing. So what if they only licked the frosting off their cupcakes and discarded the rest of the brownie cupcake. So what if they didn't eat their lunches. These girls had a blast. And Tati felt so grown up having her friends over. However, I did learn that in the future, I should pack a goodie bag for the birthday girl too (although it was a great way for me to get rid of a bunch of play-doh--he he). That's when the post play melt downs began.
